The Time and Place where a connected community thrives, embodying the essence of our "we over me" philosophy
By empowering individuals with knowledge and cultural exposure, Chautauquas help to develop a more informed and active citizenry.
U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt said that Chautauqua is "the most American thing in America".
CiviCO honors the 100+-year-old Chautauqua movement through its monthly ‘Purpose Hour’ in the heart of Cherry Creek for the soul of Colorado. Drawing upon a hundred-year recipe of convening speakers, local musicians and artists, executives, founders, and community leaders, Purpose Hour brings this heritage to inspire and connect civic energy and create new possibilities for Colorado.
Limited to 100 participants, events are hosted most third Thursdays of every month from 4:30-6:00 p.m. with light hors d’oeuvres, a local musician, and a range of topics ranging from personal development, public policy, business development, and current socioeconomic trends affecting Colorado and the world around us.
By promoting civic dialogue and personal development, Purpose Hour is a catalyst for ongoing personal and societal transformation, effectively bringing the Chautauqua tradition into the modern era.
